LAALA writes in the space between Punjabi and English — songs about distance, discipline, and the people you carry with you. The project runs out of Vancouver, BC under YE Records — Young Enthusiasts Inc.
It started in July 2022 with Scapegoat, a tribute to Sidhu Moosewala that has since passed 292,712 views. Halle Halle followed that December, then LYFSTYLE, Consigo, and Stylo — five records with producers KSPurewal, ABY and Spade Ace, all released independently.
In November 2022 Sift went out through Avi Tatla's channel — Laala on vocals and lyrics, KSPurewal producing and directing. It has since passed 202,798 views, more than anything on this channel.
Melan — ਮੇਲਣ, a meeting — arrived Aug 20, 2026 with Spade Ace and Guri Sandhu. It's the sixth record and the first of a fixed run: HER on Oct 1, 2026, produced by ABY — 02 in Melodies by Laala, after MELAN — then Jaan with the EP on Nov 12, 2026.
No label above it, no committee, no filler — built alone by choice, not by circumstance. But working alone has never meant working small. The cadence is the commitment: a new single every six weeks. Six, not four — six survives a bad month, and a promise you keep is worth more than one you break. Then merch. And forty people at $25 a month, which is what full-time actually costs — stated plainly, because it is countable and a million views is not. More is more.
